The Niagara Frontier Fiddle Club returns to the Alden Farmers Market on Saturday, June 23. Performing from 11:00 am to 12:30, the popular group is dedicated to the preservation of old-time music and “fiddling for fun”. More than a dozen musicians from all over Western New York will sing and play various instruments including guitar, banjo, concertina, squeeze box – and, of course, fiddles. Enjoy the music while shopping for fresh local plants, produce, wine and specialty products.
The day is sponsored by Alden State Bank. The Alden Chamber of Commerce will sell pizza, hot dogs and beverages.
Local strawberries are excellent but will be available for just a little while longer. Summer produce is increasing each week. Other regular products include wine, sausage, meat, baked goods, honey & maple, plants, goat milk soap, pet items, and more.
Raffle tickets are available at the Chamber table for a fabulous basket of Gift Certificates, Lotto tickets, and special offers from a wide variety of local businesses. The basket will be raffled at the Market in late July. Raffle tickets are just $1.00 and are also available at the Alden Advertiser, Alden Pharmacy, and the Chamber of Commerce office.
The Amish shed is on-site, so come and admire the new and improved design. The Chamber is again selling raffle tickets. Tickets are $3.00 each, 2 for $5.00 or 15 for $10.00. The drawing will be October 13, the Market’s closing day.
The Alden Farmers Market will be open every Saturday from 8:30 – 1:00 through Oct. 13. It is sponsored by the Alden Chamber of Commerce and is located in the Tractor Supply/Save a Lot Plaza at 13119 Broadway (Rt 20).
