THE FARMERS MARKET
FARMERS MARKET VENDORS MEETING
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25th – SEASON BEGINS MAY 16th
Believe it or not, Spring is coming and the Alden Farmers Market is planning its 13th season. An informational meeting will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 25th, at the Community Center in the Alden Town Park at 13116 West Main Street. Vendors, potential vendors, and interested citizens are invited to attend. Coffee and cookies will be served. Vendor Rules & Regulations, Applications, and other information will be available. Questions and suggestions are welcomed.
The Alden Farmers Market will open for the 2015 season on Saturday, May 16th. That date will feature crafts, early plant and specialty vendors, and wine tasting from Leonard Oakes Estate Winery. The Market is located between Tractor Supply and Save-a-Lot in the Alden Village Plaza at 13119 Broadway. It will be open every Saturday from 8:30am to 1:00 pm, through October 10th.
While space is limited, new vendors are welcome. Please refer any potential vendors to the Chamber office or Market Manager. Vendors may come for just one or two Saturdays, or for the full season. Rates are $25 per day for occasional vendors and there is a low seasonal rate. Vendors also must have insurance and all necessary permits. There will again be two “big basket” raffles and we hope local businesses will participate by providing Gift Certificates for these.
As in past years, the Market also will feature entertainment and special events every week. Non-profit groups will sell coffee, soda and snacks the entire season. The complete Calendar of Events will be available on the Chamber’s web site www.aldenny.org by late April.
Alden-area community groups are encouraged to sell food and/or have information tables at the Market. To find out how you or your group can participate, please contact the Chamber of Commerce, sponsor of the Farmers Market, at 937-6177 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Market has thrived through the commitment of a core group of volunteers who contributed countless hours and energy all season long. Many thanks to Nancy Hughes, our fearless Market Manager, who retired after the 2014 season. Earl Gillen will be the new Market Manager handling the on-site day-of operations. For any questions, you may also call the office at (716) 937-6177 or email email@example.com. Chamber members can have a free space.
