THE FARMERS MARKET
It's finally here. The 12th season of the Alden Farmers Market will open this Saturday, May 17.
The day will include a Crafts Show. And, Leonard Oakes Estate Winery of Medina will have tastings and sales of their high-quality wines. Leonard Oakes has won multiple awards at several wine competitions. Of course, many of your favorite local vendors also will be on hand.
Henry's Candy's will start selling Crystal Beach suckers and waffles. And a new local bakery, My First Ingredient, is joining long-time vendor D&L Bakery in the line-up. Nearly all of last year's vendors are returning, but most produce people will arrive later in the season as their crops are ready.
Next week, May 24, will include Crafts plus a book signing by local author Lisa Dabb Reiter. Follow lead character Jess's family in novels “Shattered Earth” and “Broken Hearts”.
The following Saturday, May 31, also will feature crafts, plus a Master Gardener and soil testing. Be sure to bring soil samples ($3 charge).
The regular entertainment season begins June 7, with the very talented kids from the Alden High School and Middle School Jazz Ensembles. A Fathers Day Crafts show will be held June 14. The Village-Wide Garage Sale will be August 2. Spaces are still available for all shows. Please call the Market Manager (937-0103) or Chamber office (937-6177) for information about participating.
Alden-area groups are encouraged to sell food and/or have information tables at the Market. Crafters and other potential vendors are invited to register for any or all of the Farmers Market events by calling either the Market Manager (937-0103) or the Chamber office (937-6177). For any questions, you may also email firstname.lastname@example.org (Chamber office) or email@example.com (Market Manager). Chamber members can have a free space.
