Alden High School Jazz Band

Spring is almost here, and planning for the Alden Farmers Market’s 2010 season is underway.  An information meeting with coffee & cookies will be held at 7 pm, Wednesday, March 24, at the Community Center on West Main Street.  Anyone is welcome to attend.

As last year, the Market is scheduled to open Mothers Day weekend – Saturday, May 8 – with a craft show in addition to early plant & specialty vendors.  The Market will still be located in the Alden Village Plaza at 13119 Broadway every Saturday from 8:30am to 1:00 pm.  We expect the 2010 season to end on October 2.

Early weeks will mostly feature plants & nursery products, baked goods, maple & honey products, early produce, and crafts.  We plan to again have a late Spring Flea Market in mid-May. 

As in past years, the Market also will feature entertainment and special events designed for the whole family.  Non-profit groups will sell coffee, soda & snacks the entire season.  The complete Calendar of Events will be available here by early May.

We continually seek new farm and specialty product vendors. Please refer any potential vendors to the Chamber office or Market Manager.  Vendors may come for just one or two Saturdays, or for the full season.  Rates are just $50 for the entire season, or $15 per day.  Chamber members can have a spot at the Market at no charge, upon approval.  The Chamber will again sell food (coffee, pizza, etc). several times, along with some other products.  There will again be two “big basket” raffles and we hope Chamber members will participate by providing Gift Certificates from their businesses for this.
