2012 “TASTE OF ALDEN” ANOTHER SUCCESS

A hot sunny afternoon brought a large crowd to attend the 14^th annual “Taste of Alden” on Thursday, June 21. Sponsored by the Alden Chamber of Commerce, this event kicked off Alden Hook & Ladder Fire Company’s Heritage and Reunion Carnival and was another great success. A huge variety of foods were offered - from pizza to crab cakes, hot dogs and roast beef to pulled pork, a large variety of desserts, and much more by fourteen participants. The Lancaster Carnival Kids Steel Drum Band entertained while guests enjoyed their samplings.

Volunteers manned the Chamber booth where tickets were sold to the hungry attendees, as well as tickets for the Chamber’s July 28^th Farmers’ Market basket raffle and tickets for a 50/50 raffle. The winner of the 50/50 raffle was Jenny Gerhart of Alden.

Vendors for this event were A.J. & Son’s Catering, Alden Hook & Ladder Fire Company and Ladies’ Auxiliary, Alden Meals on Wheels, Barrett Brother's Kettle Corn, D & L Bakery, Geoffano's Pizzeria, John & Mary’s Restaurant, Kodiak Jack’s, MaGavin’s Restaurant & Pub, My Saloon, Seas the Day Seafood, Sweet Melody’s, The Pink Cow and Tops of Alden. The Chamber would like to thank each vendor for participating.
