On May 15, 2008, The Alden Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual reorganization meeting of the Board of Directors.  At that time, the Chamber Board will welcome the newly elected members to the Board, as well as elect new officers, thereby ending my three years of service as Chamber President.  I would like to take this opportunity, as the Chamber publishes our latest newsletter, to publicly thank the members of the Chamber Board of Directors, both past and present, for allowing me the privilege of serving as President for these past three years. 

I have enjoyed the opportunity to become more involved with issues that have faced our beloved Alden community and I hope to be able to

continue to do so in different capacities in the coming years. Over the past three years, the Chamber has become more fiscally responsible, while continuing to bring value and benefits to our all-important membership.  Without your membership, there would be no Chamber of Commerce. 

The Chamber has also worked hard to produce and sponsor events for the enjoyment of our local residents, as well as to bring people from neighboring areas into our great community.  The Alden Farmers Market, Taste of Alden, and Christmas in the Park are chief among those events. 

I would like to thank the Chamber office staff and Chamber Vice President Jennifer Strong for their valued assistance in making my job as President as easy as possible. 

The Chamber still has much work ahead, as we continually strive to find new ways to give more value and benefits of Chamber membership, as well as promoting our members and Alden as a whole as a great place to live, work and conduct business.  Serving as Chamber President for the past three years has been a rewarding experience, and I am very grateful for the opportunity.  Thank you to everyone for your support.
